What is WatPack and how does it work?+
WatPack is a digital support platform for J-1 Work and Travel students heading to the U.S. It's a bundle of essential services — U.S. SIM plan, digital guides, and live support — designed to make your experience smoother from day one.
What's included in the SIM plan?+
Depending on the plan: unlimited high-speed 5G data, unlimited talk and text, 20 GB or unlimited hotspot. The Premium plan includes international calling and roaming in 188+ countries. All plans run on T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.
When and how will I receive my SIM?+
Within 24 hours of purchase, WatPack will contact you to start activation. Your SIM is delivered as an eSIM (via email) or physical SIM card. eSIM activation must be completed inside the U.S. — wait until you arrive. A $10 shipping fee may apply for physical SIM cards.
Can I purchase products separately?+
Yes. All WatPack products — Handbook, Travel Tricks Book, Tax Refund Service, Visa Application support, Travel Planning Session — are available individually in the Shop page.
What is the WatPack Handbook?+
A comprehensive PDF guide covering everything a J-1 student needs: opening a bank account, SSN process, tax basics, cultural tips, and practical daily survival guides. Written from real experience.
What is the Travel Planning Session?+
A personalized 60-minute consultation with a WatPack expert to plan your U.S. travel after your work period — best routes, affordable flights, must-see destinations, smart budget tips, tailored to you.
What is the Premium Tax Refund Service?+
WatPack's partner tax experts manage your entire J-1 tax refund process. Most J-1 students are eligible for refunds of FICA taxes and federal income tax. We handle the paperwork.
What is the Visa Application service?+
Helps J-1 students apply for a Canadian or Schengen visa from within the U.S. WatPack guides you through the process and reviews your application. Visa fees and shipping are not included.
What is WatPack's refund policy?+
If we can't reach you within 7 days of purchase, a full refund is issued within 14 business days. Visa Application services are strictly non-refundable regardless of outcome.
